Inspire - Gay Games DC 2022 Final Presentation

The Washington DC Gay Games 2022 Bid Committee presented this package to the Federation of Gay Games at their annual meeting in Paris on Saturday 28 October 2017.  The presentation named, INSPIRE, is comprised of videos, recorded interviews from the DC LGBT sports community and national leaders and live briefings by our committee including Briana Scurry-- two time Olympic Gold Medalist, Chris Mosier -- Team USA triathlete, and DC's mayor, Muriel Bowser.  Take a view minutes and be inspired.  I was one of the co-chairs for the DC bid.  I am a big proponent of the Gay Games movement and supporting this bid was a huge honor for me.

Federation of Gay Games inspects DC sports venues & DC Gay Games 2022 Rally

The DC Gay Games Bid Committee for the 2022 Gay Games is hosting the Federation of Gay Games Site Inspection team 28 June - 1 July.  I serve as one of three, Bid Committee Co-Chairs.  The Bid Committee developed the plan to visit key venues, evaluate transportation and a few more social activities to introduce the Federation Officials to Washington DC and our ability, enthusiasm and commitment to host the best ever Gay Games.  This is what Day 1 in DC looked like.

We started with our bi-weekly DCGG2022 Bid Board Meeting.  David and Annette attended and participated freely in the discussion.  The meeting also allowed the Bid team to introduce themselves to FGG officials.  We finished the day with a large, diverse, energetic, enthusiastic and loud rally in support of bringing the Gay Games to Washington DC in 2022.  Our Mayor eloquently repeated her strong endorsement for the games.

Mayor Muriel Bowser's Third Annual FreshStart 5K

A diverse crowd of about 1,200 turned out for the Third Annual FreshStart 5K which is one of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s initiatives to attain and maintain a healthy DC, on New Years Day 2017.

The event is a run/walk.  It was a sunny winters morning on Hains Point and beautiful along the shores of the Washington Channel and the Potomac River.

I used my GoPro on a head mount for the first time. There are a few things I'll do differently next time!  Enjoy
