Annual Washington Automotive Press Assn & Buick Reception - Highlights
It was cold outside on December 14th, but very warm inside the posh Georgetown Ritz-Carlton as Buick hosted the Washington Automotive Press Association’s End-of-Year Holiday Reception and Drive.
Tony DiSalle, US Vice President of Buick Marketing shared highlights of the brand’s accomplishments and took questions and answers. Per Tony’s remarks, Buick is doing very well. Sales are up 5.5%. Highlights included:
- The new for Cascada convertible has sold 6,000 units.
- The Envision, the new luxury Crossover, is also selling well with 10,000 units sold in the US and a whopping 200,000 units sold in China. The Envision was designed in Detroit but is produced in entirely in China in a new , state-of-the-art GM plant.
- There is beautiful all new LaCrosse coming in 2017.
Buick design mantras are - Quiet comfort, Precision handling, a Sense of Well Being. This is working well for Buick, particularly in China where brand loyalty is handed down from generation to generation. So, there may be a Buick in my future. My father used to drive them. He had a Roadmaster convertible and a 1967 red Sport Wagon, with the Vista Cruiser roof. I loved that car.
